Brighton-based Adam Johnson & Dan Mackay celebrated their 10th anniversary of meeting at the same time the BBC were looking for a couple for the documentary celebrating 10 years of same-sex marriage being legalised, so were the perfect choice for the show, hosted by Comedian and TV presenter Tom Allen and featuring a performance from Sophie Ellis-Bextor.
The couple discovered Trading Boundaries and instantly fell in love with it, explains Adam:
“As soon as I saw it I knew it was the right place. Beautifully quirky and not the generic venue but still equipped with everything we would need. Across the lawn stood a beautiful handmade fabric Indian marquee that somehow gave a wonderful nod to Brighton Pavilion but in a wedding way. It was light and bright and on the day we visited the heavens opened with heavy rain that we barely noticed from within.”

We know how important this day is to you, so as part of our venue hire packages, we offer total exclusivity for the duration of your wedding, with early access to the marquees from 1pm the day prior, to ensure everything is simply perfect when it matters most.
Our venue is fully licensed for legal ceremonies and can provide stunning services in our bespoke Indian Marquees, Indian Temple Trellis or out under the canopy of the 200-year-old Oaks on our landscaped lawns. Registrar ceremonies are followed by a simple ten-minute service in our licensed signing room with your witnesses to complete the proceedings.
If wet weather indoor services we can offer our charming, atmospheric restaurant venue that can accommodate up to 180 guests. Enjoy a stunning heritage space perfect for an unforgettable & beautiful service, featuring elegant Indian decoration, fairy-lit archways and stunning Georgian details.
Wedding Marquees
Designed by us and handcrafted in India, our two unique marquees are perfect for you to greet your guests to enjoy your wedding breakfast in the scenic surroundings of our grounds and lawns. They feature gold block print ceiling linings, an abundance of voile curtains, Jodhpur tassels, carved wooden finials and charming decorative hand-printed patterns.
Our marquees can be decorated individually and divided with stunning block print panels for extra atmosphere or opened up to create a single event space. Each marquee offers comfortable seating for up to 90 guests. Together they host up to 180 guests including your top table. Our venue coordinator will work with you to design a perfect table layout for your wedding breakfast.
Depending on the weather, you can leave the sides to float in a gentle breeze or remain open on warm summer days. Both marquees are weatherproof and well-lit throughout the evenings.
Tables and chairs are included free of charge for up to 120 guests and flooring & lighting are provided for both of our large Indian marquees.
Catering and Drinks
Enjoy welcome drinks with your guests on arrival and after your ceremony with bespoke drinks packages arranged and tailored to your requirements, ensuring an incredible wine, cocktails & drinks menu for your guests throughout the event.
We work with a number of first-class caterers who provide a wide array of delicious and interesting menus for you to choose from for your day - from canapés, aperitifs, the wedding breakfast and of course, evening food if required. But we understand if there is a particular caterer or cuisine you prefer and are happy to work with them. Caterers have access to our professional kitchen and catering tent.
Boutique Accommodation
We are delighted to offer the couple a complimentary night’s stay on your wedding night in our honeymoon suite. We have eight boutique hotel rooms in total for you and your guests to relax and stay in over the course of your wedding. Set on our grounds, each of our beautifully decorated rooms features plenty of natural light, high ceilings and rustic oak beams, with an outdoor seating area to enjoy the sun with views over our Indian Courtyard Garden with the stunning fountain at the centre. Each room is en-suite and delightfully decorated in fusion Indian style providing a luxurious stay that includes Continental Breakfast.
Evening Reception
Our newly renovated restaurant venue is sprinkled with fairy lights and beautifully decorated Indian archways, providing intimate & enchanting surroundings for your evening reception of up to 180 guests.
Indoor & outdoor bars with friendly, knowledgeable staff are provided on the night.
Our sunken & fairy-lit dance floor is perfect for your first dance and partying with your guests well into the night.

For any wedding we host, you and your bridal party will have access to a dedicated member of our team on-site to help plan and organise the celebration, ensuring a flawless day. The bride can enjoy the use of our honeymoon suite to prepare in before the ceremony, complete with full-length mirrors, dress rails, en-suite bathroom, guest wifi and amenities to ensure you can prepare in comfort & style. Weddings can run from 1 pm until midnight but always discuss with us if you want your day to start earlier.
For any wedding we host we provide a dedicated venue co-ordinator to help you with all your needs and our experienced house bar team for the wedding breakfast, afternoon reception and evening party.
