Welcome

My name is Fiona Whelton and I am a fully accredited Wedding Celebrant trained with the Irish Institute of Celebrants. I am also a proud member of the Irish Ethical Celebrants Society.

I perform Civil and Non-Religious Wedding Ceremonies, Vow Renewal Ceremonies, Milestone Ceremonies and Naming Ceremonies.  Some of the enhancements that I love to use are Hand Fasting, Sand Ceremony, Unity Candle, Ring Warming and my personal favourite...Cacao Ceremony.

I am a vibrant and professional celebrant and I would be honoured to be part of your special day. I am committed to bringing you the kind of ceremony you have always hoped for. I want your ceremony to be truly bespoke, full of meaning and personality and one which you, your family and friends will talk about for many years to come. The process begins from the moment we meet, whether it is a virtual or in-person meeting and then continues over the weeks and months leading up to the big day.

A little about me...

I live on the beautiful Wild Atlantic Way in a little village called Doolin, Co. Clare with my husband, our 3 children and our Border Collie Jessie.  Doolin and its environs have really become popular in recent years for weddings and it is no surprise to me.

We have the stunning Cliffs of Moher, the intriguing limestone landscape of the Burren and not to mention the charm and colour of Doolin Village itself. I love living here so much!

Wedding Ceremony

I am a vibrant, professional, creative and heart-led Wedding Celebrant. Some call it a Commitment Ceremony, others a Wedding Ceremony but whatever the name to me being trusted to guide this most beautiful ceremony in a couple's lives is a privilege that I take very seriously. In the months leading up to your Big Day, I will be there for you every step of the way, whether it's reassuring words that are needed or some deep breathing exercises (I'm a trained Yoga teacher!) or a little inspiration from my vast collection of love quotes and poetry; I've got you.

I promise your ceremony will be a true reflection of your personality, I don't do generic ceremonies. Every ceremony I write is unique and bespoke for you.

1/1

I am a proud member of the Irish Ethical Celebrant Society and for me, that means so so much particularly since Ireland recently welcomed Same-Sex Marriage.

It is difficult to say what my ideal couple is as I have worked with so many different people from all walks of life and to me, all couples are unique and special and deserve to have their thoughts and hopes listened to. I love the couple who know exactly what they want just as much as I love the couple who are utterly clueless!

From the moment you make contact with me and we embark on this journey together you have my full attention...we are in this together! I so love the process of crafting a bespoke ceremony, choosing the poems and readings, writing the love story, helping the couple with their vows; each step is a privilege for me to be part of.

I offer my couples a professional and heart led service where I accompany them on every step of their ceremony journey. From the moment we connect to the day of the 'I Do' I am available with ideas, inspiration, calming words, creativity and an impressive collection of love quotes and poetry! I love nothing more than diving in to my books to find the perfect words for the perfect moment in our couples ceremony.  Some of my favourite enhancements are Hand Fasting, Sand Ceremony, Ring Warming and the Unity Candle but my absolute favourite is something I am proud to have created myself...Cacao Ceremony. I would love to tell you more!

Cacao Ceremony

A really special enhancement I offer for Wedding and Vow Renewals is to include the sharing of Ceremonial Grade Cacao by the couple. Cacao was used in ancient times by the Olmec and Mayan people of Central and South America. It was highly prized and was used in ceremonies extensively including in ceremonies of Matrimony. I source the Cacao from a small company in Guatemala called Cacao Source. They do a lot of great work in small communities and help provide much-needed income to the growers and producers while also preserving this wondrous plant medicine.
