The Silk Mill in the centre of Frome & close to St John’s C of E Church hosts weddings as well as arts & music events. Our natural light gallery & southwest facing courtyard is suitable for couples seeking a bespoke, approach that allows creative freedom.
Our interior seated capacity is 100 & we have full disabled access. Without furniture, we can accommodate 200. We have plenty of west facing outside space some of which is covered with canopies in the summer months. Ceremonies can be held inside or out. The numbers our licence permits for weddings inside is 100 but you can have a few more for an outside ceremony.
The cost to hire the gallery to hold the full ceremony is £2,700. If you hold the celebration only there the cost is £2,400. This does not include the cost of the registrar which you need to organise yourselves swiftly as this service gets very booked up. We put the gallery at your disposal for 4 days over the weekend from Thursday to the following Monday morning. You can run your own bar with no corkage charge but you will need to appoint someone who has a personal licence. We have a premises licence but even if you are not charging for drinks licence objectives need to be met. Part of the licence states that we are required to restrict the playing of live music until 11pm and recorded music until midnight. Our licence requires that you have a security guards if you have more than 75 people.
