Hylands Estate – an award winning, stunning Grade II* listed mansion and contemporary Grand Pavilion – is the perfect setting to host your wedding. Set in 597 acres of landscaped parkland, the traditional, lavish ceremony and reception rooms in the house offer stunning views of the Essex countryside whilst the sleek Grand Pavilion accommodates both intimate and large wedding parties. Situated close to the heart of Chelmsford with excellent transport links to London, Hertfordshire, Suffolk, Kent, and London Stansted Airport, Hylands Estate is a convenient and gorgeous venue for your wedding.
Your Wedding
At Hylands Estate we offer the best of both worlds with meticulously restored period interiors and a modern Grand Pavilion, all of which make the perfect venue for small and large wedding ceremonies and receptions. Exchange your vows surrounded by your loved ones in one of our three gorgeous ceremony spaces and then continue your celebrations in our Grade II* listed mansion or, for larger wedding parties, to our sleek and contemporary Grand Pavilion.
Ceremonies
Host your ceremony for up to 100 guests in our show-stopping Banqueting Room or the elegant Drawing Room for up to 80 guests. Both rooms are licensed for civil ceremonies.
Our Grand Pavilion provides the perfect setting for ceremonies of up to 300 guests, accommodating large décor designs for Mandaps with sacred fires, Nikkah staging and Chuppahs.
Receptions
The Grand Pavilion offers a contemporary space for your wedding meal and evening reception for up to 300 guests. This space provides the perfect blank canvas for your suppliers to bring your vision to life. With its own stylish bar, kitchen, modern toilets and private outdoor area, you have everything you need to host your reception in style. There are endless opportunities to make your dream reception a reality, from spectacular Asian banquets to stylish Jewish receptions until the early hours.
Garden & Outdoor Spaces
The grounds and formal gardens within Hylands Estate offer the dream setting for your wedding photos. Enjoy exclusive use of the East Terrace Garden for your confetti photo following on from your ceremony. Take a stroll into the Pleasure Gardens filled with seasonal flowers, including our famous wisteria, cherry blossom trees and manicured topiary, offering unforgettable photos all year round.
Wedding Suite
It’s a pretty special moment for us here at Hylands Estate; for months we have been piecing together a masterplan to create an incredible Wedding Suite for our couples to enjoy on their wedding day. With the expert help of Liz at Knight Design Interiors and many other incredible suppliers, the new Wedding Suite is now complete!
The new Wedding Suite comprises of four luxurious rooms, all available within your wedding hire. Hylands Estate is an exclusive dry hire venue offering you the flexibility to select your own caterers and contractors to create a day bespoke to you.
