Located within the International Centre for Life – an internationally renowned science village – we can offer unique spaces in one of Newcastle’s most central wedding venues.
We agree that your wedding celebration should be individual, exciting and something you have always dreamed of.
Traditional or quirky, a grand gathering or an intimate occasion, the choice is yours. Our friendly, experienced events team are here to help you plan every detail of your special day, leaving you free to enjoy every single moment.
You will be our only couple on the day so rest assured you will be the centre of attention.

OUR SPACES
PLANETARIUM Dramatic, whimsical and romantic. With its curved walls, 360-degree domed digital screen and comfortable reclining seats, it’s one of the most impressive and intimate spaces to say “I do”. You can design your own bespoke ceremony. Select your perfect backdrop – either astronomical or a cityscape - from our stunning images and let us do the rest.
Can’t find what you’re looking for in our image library? Tell us your dream wedding location and we will do our best to make it a reality – without stepping foot outside of Newcastle.
THE SCOTSWOOD The Scotswood is perfect for larger ceremonies, wedding breakfasts and evening receptions. This ground floor room is spacious, with high ceilings, mirror balls and minimalist décor – an ideal space if you are looking for a blank canvas to make your own.
THE GRAINGER AND MARLBOROUGH The Scotswood can be divided into two smaller spaces – the Grainger and the Marlborough – to accommodate smaller numbers for both your ceremony and wedding breakfast.
THE BLAYDON AND GIBBS Perfect for smaller ceremonies to create an intimate dining experience for your wedding party. The space is also ideal to create a cosy snug for a retreat from a wedding celebration downstairs.
Hire rates for ceremonies are available on request.
YOUR DAY AT LIFE
Whether you’re looking for a venue for your ceremony, wedding breakfast, evening reception – or a mixture of them all – we have a range of options for any party size.
Are you dreaming of a wedding at sunset? Getting married abroad and looking to party with friends and family at home? Or perhaps you just want a wedding party that’s more informal? Then maybe one of our late afternoon or evening-only wedding packages would suit you.
We only ever host one wedding at a time – and that dedication to a personalised service extends to our late afternoon and evening-only bookings too.
What’s more, there is no charge for room hire for a minimum number of 100 guests.
