The Saddle Club is truly one of Wirral`s best kept secrets, we are a very popular venue in the community, tucked away at the top of Roman Road, Prenton. We are a Private Members Club (public welcome) with 2 Bars and a beautiful beer garden.
Prenton was originally 'Prestune', a Celtic name meaning a forest 3 miles wide by 3 miles long The local Celts, were known as Cornovii, and are known to have been foresters and farmers. Given the location on the Wirral they would have had an abundance of local produce.
The Saddle Club was part of a larger farm called lower farm. The farm was tied to nearby Prenton Hall which is listed in the Doomsday Book. Starting life as a winter shelter tucked down below a shallow ridge, then changing to a Small Mill and eventually to a full working farm, with a large selection of live stock. It stayed like this for many years until the late 1950s, moving full over to a Riding stables. Sadly in the 1970s the farm was sold off and broken up in to separate areas.
The inside of the building is full of fantastic 'olde worlde' features with a fantastic vaulted ceiling in the Main bar. Black Beams with White Daub walls throughout the rest of the club.
The Saddle Club is a Private Members Club -this means that the way we trade is slightly different from normal, longer hours than a pub, but not as late as a nightclub. 2am, however members of the public are always welcome.
With 2 Bars and a possible 5 separate areas to use at your leisure, Main Members bar, Snug, Function Room bar lounge area & Gardens

Our trading hours are Monday to Thursday and 11am - 12.30am Friday and Saturday, 11am - 2.00am Sunday 11am - 12pm With half hour drinking up time The entertainment licence is the same, with £500 jackpots. Our maximum capacity is 175 people, split between three rooms; this means we can offer a whole lot more to our members & Guests .
Garden
A Secret Walled Garden, this fantastic outdoor area with Tropical Plant,s, shrubs and flowers. A great setting for the Wedding Photographs! The garden contains some special features: a Wishing Well. We also during the summer months Hog roasts and BBQ`s Smoker for a unique flavour in all our meats, fresh crisp salads, sourced locally, all in a secluded area quite and private.
